This group was small but mighty!!

The best way to sum up this special week and group is to share this excerpt from my email to Group leader Art about the amazing group he brought to our little piece of Appalachia as they journeyed home and I processed all that they had accomplished…we find ourselves truly blessed with all you do, and I’m sure we will continue to do so as we join together to help the people of Appalachia.

Art,

As you begin your travels home, I sit here reflecting on your presence here in Appalachia...our little town of Louisa, KY... with our sweet, resilient client Anne ...We are so blessed that God sent you our way!

You have gone way beyond our expectations for the job assignment given your team, and you went well above and beyond anything we thought attainable for a two day mission. You have set the bar high for other groups to follow this year--I'm thinking you've trained our intern, Grace way too well--she's going to keep their noses to the grindstone for sure!!

Anne is so thrilled with what you've done for her, not only your physical labors, but the love and care you showed her, she didn't expect the porch to be completed yet either...but you went to work with such determination and your team worked so well together she now has a safe porch and exit. Your compassion for her was heartfelt and she is grateful, a simple water hose was a profound gift to her and her garden this year.

I look forward to hosting you and your group(s) again soon. In the spirit of answering Father Beiting's question: "Have you asked God what he wants you to do with your life?"  You, Gina, Marie, Gerry, Shari and Kathy have most definitely answered that question with "love one another as he has loved us"...stepped up to the plate and gave it your all for Anne

And on behalf of the people in our impoverished part of Appalachia and Father Beiting Appalachian Mission we greatly appreciate the heart and hands of service you've provided in our community.

Please keep us as a mission and the people of Appalachia in your prayers, may you all be blessed.”

Enjoy the following pictures of the wonderful work they did, the giving of service to the heart of Appalachia…
